Hi Jimmy, many thanks for the comments. You are right it MUST be a cuckoo - Penicuik means in ancient British Pen Y Cog, meaning "Hill of the Cuckoo"! Do you still live in Penicuik?
No live in Inverness now,but visit family there often and take part in the Penicuik 10k and carnethy hill race.Are you a native of Penicuik? I think your photos are fantastic, I've always wanted to take up photography but never got round to it.
Carnethy Hill Race! I used to do it but got out the habit, though I still run off and on :-). No, I'm an incomer, been here only 20 years. Thanks for the compliment about my photos, it is greatly appreciated. Photography is really easy to get into these days. Its difficult to buy a bad camera, the rest just comes - there are unlimited possibilities for subjects!
