Tropical paradise?

Meditation on 'the building of the 'Pregnant Lady'

Bus across the water

Travel is a lot easier by bus...

Spotted!

The wandering photographer spotted this emerging from the warm waters yesterday

Cast adrift

The wandering photographer has been a bit quiet recently he is cast adrift in the world... I wonder where! Lorraine, See, I'm not a photojournalist on assignment, just a humble amateur bobbing around the warm seas for a day.

The last post

The weather closed in and the cold snow blew across the open moor

Fleeting light

The boiling clouds raced across from the south-west, suddenly a gap appeared

A tangled web

Cold comfort

Snow desert

Snow hills

Auchencorth Moss

Snow! Yippee!

Auchencorth Moss

Yes, the sun is shining, Halleleujah, I've seen the light!

Wandering photographer gets plastered

Weather roller-coaster... this morning we woke up to sunshine, snow and blocked roads. What a photo scoop for the wandering photographer, a snow plough hurtling snow towards him at high speed. Remind me to stand further back and with a longer lens next time!

Auchencorth Moss

The sun sets for the wandering photographer over the dark cold moor. Brrrr!
Irony set in, I spent the afternoon trying to get images without electricity cables and pylons, here I went to one of my favourite spots to put them in the picture.

Near Biggar

Contre jour! I did some magic on this one!

Near Biggar

Sailing round the Borders, everywhere I looked there were electricity lines spoiling the view. This is about the best I could do.
On the first rise is a Christmas tree plantation... see the lucky survivors, to live for another year!

Auchencorth Moss

The sun has risen, time to go home... zzzzzzzz!

Auchencorth Moss

Yawn, yawn, I was up at dawn! Cold, cold wind blowing...
The observent blog watcher will notice the snow has completely gone!

Anchor plates

The regular visitor will be amazed to hear than only one image was taken today. A series of domestic harrassments (yawn) and heavy rain all day conspired against the wandering photographer exercising his shutter finger. However, he did get this beauty - tie rods and anchor plates under a bridge. 1. it wasn't raining under the bridge and 2. the wandering photographer remembers from an early age being fascinated by the crumbling buildings and bridges of Stockton, his home town, being held up with such beauties.

Evening B&W tat

This is a glorious sunset. Interesting skyline... Interesting omen in the clouds....

Auchencorth Moss

The light was getting low, the snow blew in spin-drifts from the cold North.... the wandering photographer has frozen digits.... I'm off home :-)

Beached froth tat

Old tat again....

Peebles, Scottish Borders

Close of the day

The house on the hill

Robin in the snow

After this picture of the intrepid Robin, all the birds suddenly had better things to do than visit the bird table - I have this effect...!

Robin in the snow

After the morning freeze on the moor it has been snowing all morning. For just a brief while the snow stopped and the sun broke through. I nabbed this birdie coming for a feed.

Auchencorth Moss

One of the few trees on the moor, windswept and a great survivor. I
photograph this tree through the seasons

Fidra Island

Just tatting again...
B&W is now a hell of a lot easier than messing around in the darkroom I did as a kid!
